Preserving the oldest home in Shelby County TN
The Davies Manor Association preserves and interprets the Davies Manor log-house museum and historic grounds. We aim to provide an inclusive, multi-faceted space for the educational study of the Davies family, regional history, early Shelby county farm life, and the natural environment; by doing so we create opportunities for the public to make meaningful connections between the past and present.
We preserve and interpret Shelby county history with daily tours, field trips, group trips, special exhibits, and more.
On 37 acres, Davies Manor Historic Site encompasses a c. 1850 log cabin, dogtrot style house, original outbuildings, added historic buildings, gardens, and trails through the woods. Beyond, caring for the historic buildings, Davies also cares for the land it sits on. We are a certified Backyard Habitat, a green space for animals to live, and on our way to being a certified arboretum.
Visitors from all over the county, state, United States, and World have visited Davies Manor for a walk in tour, enjoyed learning the history, and soaked in the quiet atmosphere.
